Baddeley wins IMPACT Student Activist Award

We are so pleased to congratulate incoming Burchells articled clerk Sarah Baddeley.

On March 23, 2017 she was the recipient of a prestigious Dalhousie IMPACT Award.  An initiative of the Dalhousie Student Union in collaboration with Dalhousie University, IMPACT awards recognize outstanding individuals and student groups making a positive impact in the community.

Sarah received the Student Activist Award for her wide-ranging work in public education on the law of consent, reproductive justice, trans-rights and advocacy for the rights of criminalized women.  The selection committee also noted Sarah's contributions to the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF), the Dalhousie Feminist Legal Association, and Women's Wellness Within: serving criminalized women.

Making a difference is a big part of Sarah's identity, and will make her an excellent lawyer.  Well done Sarah!
